Guatemala Finca Gascon: The Geisha Revolution
When botanical excellence meets radical innovation, a coffee like Finca Gascon Geisha Lactic is born. At the dizzying heights of Antigua (up to 2,050 m), the young visionary Felipe Contreras cultivates a Geisha that thrives completely without chemicals and pesticides, in harmony with the cloud forest.
The Lactic Process: A Game of Microbiology
This coffee is the result of a highly complex experiment. After manual harvesting, the cherries are fermented anaerobically (without oxygen) in tanks enriched with specific lactic acid bacteria. This "lactic" fermentation gives the already floral Geisha an incomparable, silky texture and an extremely complex fruit sweetness. After this phase, the coffee dries for 25 days on raised beds using the Natural process.
Aromatic Brilliance (SCA 87)
With an exceptional score of 87 points, this coffee offers a fireworks display of aromas:
- Sweet & Floral: Sweet aromas and orange blossom.
- Fruit: Mandarin, peach, and raspberry.
- Base: Velvety milk chocolate.
Serving Recommendation: Purism over Additives
A coffee of this caliber is an experience for the senses. We strongly recommend enjoying this Geisha black (without additions). Milk and sugar would completely mask the delicate nuances of berries and floral notes and destroy the filigree acidity structure. Allow the coffee to cool slightly after brewing to discover the full complexity of the lactic acid fermentation.
Why the 200g Aluminum Can?
A coffee of this quality is a rarity that deserves maximum protection. Our new, exclusive 200g aluminum can perfectly seals the volatile aromas from light and oxygen. For connoisseurs, this can is not only a freshness guarantee, but also a true collector's item due to its elegant design, reflecting the excellence of its contents.
Strictly Limited – 2024/2025 Harvest
Since Felipe Contreras only cultivates 17 hectares at Finca Gascon and the Geisha plants yield very little, the quantity of this microlot is extremely limited. A highlight for connoisseurs, available only while supplies last.
