Flavor profile
The Colombia Hacienda El Encanto Natural Single Origin impresses with a multifaceted and intense flavor profile. From the very first sip, fruity aromas of mango and red berries unfold, lending the coffee a vibrant sweetness. This clear fruitiness and balanced depth make it particularly appealing to lovers of fermented coffees.
Origin & Cultivation
The coffee comes from Hacienda El Encanto in Colombia, a region with an ideal climate and fertile soils. The farm is located in the foothills of the Andes, where altitude and biodiversity offer optimal growing conditions.
Since 2013, the hacienda has been undergoing a comprehensive modernization process focused on efficiency and sustainability. This includes modern cultivation techniques, advanced irrigation systems, and measures to promote biodiversity.
A key focus is on training coffee farmers. In workshops, they learn methods to increase yields and reduce environmental impact. Simultaneously, investments have been made in infrastructure such as warehouses and drying facilities to improve processing and quality. The result is coffee that meets the highest standards.
Sustainability & Quality
Sustainability and quality are at the heart of Hacienda El Encanto's work. The coffee is grown organically and fairly. A key element is permaculture, which utilizes natural cycles and creates stable ecosystems for the long term.
Mixed cropping and organic methods promote biodiversity, soil fertility, and natural pest control. Pesticides can thus be largely avoided. This cultivation method strengthens both the ecological balance and the independence of farmers.
This respectful treatment of people and nature is reflected in every cup.
Harvest & Processing
The harvest is done exclusively by hand to select only ripe coffee cherries. Due to the high humidity in Colombia, the cherries are not sun-dried, but oven-dried. This controlled method intensifies the aromas and preserves the coffee's subtle nuances.
Philosophy & Commitment
The philosophy of Hacienda El Encanto is based on respect for nature and people. Fair wages, educational programs, and investments in organic farming characterize their work.
A particularly close project is the shelter in Santa Rosa de Lima, which offers protection, education, and care to vulnerable children and young people. It symbolizes the social commitment of Tierra de Café and Mondo del Caffè, as well as the Saldarriaga family's responsibility to the community.
