search split 70% Arabica / 30% Canephora
With this excellent espresso blend, we are breaking new ground in the coffee trade!
Very chocolatey and nutty with low acidity and a rich crema. This is our direct-import espresso. For this blend, we use our pulped natural Brazilian coffee from Fazenda Campreste (Bob o Link Project) in two roast levels: one lighter (more sweetness and delicate fruit) and one darker (chocolate, roasted notes, more body), a fully washed coffee from Juan (Colombia, Hacienda El Encanto), and 30% Canephora from Craigmore Estate, whose strength and clean character ensure a great crema and full body.
All the green coffee beans in this exceptional blend have been sourced sustainably, fairly, and transparently, directly from the source. We know exactly which farm and region our coffee comes from, having visited the plantations ourselves and witnessed firsthand the outstanding quality, advanced processing methods, and excellent working conditions.
Our guiding principle is incredibly simple: "Good quality = good price." The farmers at the source supply us with only the very best they can produce, and we pay them fairly. It's a simple equation, the result of which you, as our customer, can taste with every sip of this coffee as you read these lines.
Details on the growing areas:
Brazil, Fazenda Santana:
Fazenda Santana is picturesquely situated near the town of Espírito Santo do Pinhal in the Mogiana region of São Paulo state. It encompasses approximately 120 hectares, of which about 20 hectares are protected forest. Among other things, freshwater fish are raised in the main lake. The coffee plantation is divided into several lots. Biodiversity is prioritized over monocultures, which is very important to us personally. The older lots, dating back to 1967, predominantly grow Mundo Novo coffee, while the newer lots mainly feature Icatu and Catuai. Recently, Yellow Bourbon (yellow-fruited Bourbon) has also been planted.
The farm has been owned for years by Arnaldo Franco Moraes (whose family roots go back to the founders of Espírito Santo do Pinhal and to the historical owners of the farm).
Since 2015, Emilio Lopez has been supporting the farm, ushering in a new phase. Emilio Lopez is a well-known coffee producer in El Salvador (owner of El Manzano and Ayutepeque), a specialty coffee producer, and an expert in harvesting and processing techniques.
When he joined the farm in 2015, several changes and improvements were initiated. The goal was to combine shared values and a common vision to achieve higher quality. We work closely and collaboratively with Emilio in both El Salvador and Brazil. Our success speaks for itself. Through regular communication, we have achieved an exceptional level of quality that is truly unparalleled.
This coffee comes from the Craigmore Estate, located in India – more precisely in the Coorg region of Karnataka. The key word here is complexity, a characteristic we wouldn't have expected from a Canephora (a Robusta) from India. Roasted aromas, reminiscent of freshly baked bread, dominate, rounded off by intensely spicy nuances, resulting in a very harmonious and full-bodied flavor.
Farm: Craigmore Estate
Location of the farm: India, Coorg, Karnataka, Pollibetta (outskirts of the Western Ghats)
Altitude: 1100 meters
Rainfall: 50 inches (152 cm) / per year
Hectares: 20
