Sergio Arzilli is tastefully and stylishly dressed, like an Italian fashion designer. When he enters his small workshop, he deftly throws on his white coat. Here, amidst cocoa butter, hazelnut paste, and vanilla pods, lies his domain. Anyone who has ever seen the maestro chocolatier eyeing his artfully crafted pralines over the rim of his glasses understands that this man lives and breathes chocolate.
Sergio was born into a pastry shop and grew up in his parents' confectionery. He worked with sweets his whole life – but one ingredient fascinated him and never let him go: cocoa. That's how Sergio decided to switch from pastry chef to chocolate maker.
The silhouette of Turin not only adorns the beautifully designed packaging, but the inner values of La Perla creations also interpret the Turin chocolate tradition – because in the old streets of this city, the dark Gianduja nougat made from roasted and ground hazelnuts was invented.
