Flavor profile
This fully washed Robusta green coffee from the Craigmore Estate in South India impresses with expressive aromas and a powerful body. Depending on the roast, the coffee unfolds a range of flavor notes such as:
- Roasted hazelnuts – warm, nutty and full
- Creamy smoothness – a round, soft mouthfeel
- Tobacco notes – deep, spicy, earthy
- Roasted character – distinct, without burning
Whether as a strong Robusta single-origin roast or in a blend to increase body and crema – this coffee delivers character and variety.
Origin & Cultivation
The coffee comes from the traditional Craigmore Estate in the Western Ghats of South India, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The plantation is situated at an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters and offers ideal growing conditions with a cool microclimate, fertile soils, and natural shade from native trees.
The high altitude and controlled microclimate result in a particularly aromatic Robusta that clearly stands out from conventional mass-produced Robustas.
Sustainability & Quality
Since 2002, Craigmore Estate has consistently relied on organic farming methods, the avoidance of pesticides and the promotion of biodiversity.
Social responsibility is also a key focus:
- Fair wages and medical care for workers
- School projects & educational initiatives for families
- Support for local environmental programs
The raw coffee is selectively hand-picked, sorted and fully washed – a quality feature that is extremely rare in Robusta.
