Guatemala CODECH Organic Coffee – A taste experience with character
Guatemala CODECH organic coffee delights with a harmonious flavor profile, beautifully blending delicate fruity notes with the aromatic depth of dark chocolate. A pleasantly lingering sweetness creates a complex, balanced aroma that makes every cup a pleasure.
Origin & Cultivation
This organic coffee comes from the Concepción Huista region in Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala's most renowned coffee-growing areas. At altitudes of 1,400 to 1,900 meters, the coffee plants thrive in nutrient-rich volcanic soils, benefiting from a mild climate and traditional cultivation methods. These ideal conditions result in particularly complex and flavorful coffees.
The CODECH cooperative unites dedicated small-scale farmers who cultivate their coffee strictly according to organic guidelines. They consistently avoid chemical fertilizers and pesticides, relying instead on natural soil management and ecological practices for healthy plant development. This results in coffee that respects both the environment and quality.
Harvest & Processing
Harvested by hand, only ripe, high-quality coffee cherries are selected. They then undergo a fully washed processing method: after the pulp is removed, the beans are fermented and thoroughly washed with water. Finally, they are gently sun-dried to allow their clear, defined aroma profile to develop optimally.
Sustainability & social responsibility
The cooperative members receive ongoing training to further develop sustainable farming methods. Fair trade conditions strengthen the economic stability of the farming families, while organic farming promotes biodiversity and keeps the soil healthy in the long term.
Versatile enjoyment
Whether as filter coffee, in a French press, or as an aromatic espresso – this highland coffee is a true all-rounder. Its complex profile makes it the perfect choice for anyone who appreciates high-quality, characterful, and responsibly produced coffee.
